Hey, how addicted are you to drinking coffee? Why do you drink coffee, how regular do you drink coffee, and what's your favorite coffee to drink?

Post 2 by Batman413 (Zone BBS is my Life) on Friday, 28-Dec-2007 11:51:18

I haven't drank coffee for a long time. I used to be very addicted though, and I somehow stopped drinking it. I loved Hazel Nut.

Post 3 by Miss Gorgeous (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Friday, 28-Dec-2007 11:51:19

Hey, sorry, this was supposed to be posted in the Grub Garage board section, but i placed it here. Oh well, to answer my own question. Yes, I'm so addicted to drinking coffee, i drink one or two cups a day depending on how much work I needed to get done. I drink coffee because it keeps me awake in class, and I don't have a favorite because I just love all kinds of coffee. Its really helpful especially when i'm studying for a test, and it keeps my concentration going on a tiring day.

Post 4 by Eleni21 (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Friday, 28-Dec-2007 14:33:53

I love coffee, but mostly drink decaf. My usual is either Nescafe Classic (Greek) or Duncan Doughnuts. But I also love Greek coffee and espresso. However, I also enjoy trying new varieties, even when they're not decaf, just for the experience. I drink coffee because I love the taste and the variety. Sometimes, I'll put mint, iced cream or both in my coffee. I also love coffee during or after a cigarette. Anyway, here's a great site for all sorts of coffees, except Greek.

Post 5 by forereel (Just posting.) on Friday, 28-Dec-2007 14:40:57

Yes coffee. I drink it for the taste and variety. Maybe a small pot a day, which is 2 or 3 large cups. Mostly in the mornings, but if it's cold and I'm up at night then at night too. It doesn't do anything for me but taste good and is warming. I can drink it and go to sleep, so the staying awake part doesn't work. I like to grind my own direct from the beans, I use un dyed filters and the whole 9 yards. I like flavored types and get them varying places. Blue hill is suppose to be the best in the world.

Post 6 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Friday, 28-Dec-2007 14:51:47

Thanks for starting this board. looks like I'll start drinking the stuff once school begins. lol

Post 7 by Eleni21 (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Friday, 28-Dec-2007 18:13:11

Wow forereel! I'm very impressed with your love of coffee and how you grind the beans etc I haven't heard of Blue Hill, but I'll try it. I wonder what kinds of flavours and varieties they have? I love the coffee that comes in vacuum-sealed bricks. It's so fresh and delicious. Btw, forgot to answer a part of the question earlier. I have about two, sometimes three cups a day, the third usually being at night when I choose to have it.

Post 8 by forereel (Just posting.) on Friday, 28-Dec-2007 22:06:38

I am sorry. Blue Hill comes from Jamicka can't spell this, so pardon me. It is grown in the blue hills mountains. Expensive, but nice. $40 a pound is much to me, but you can order smaller amounts.

Post 9 by Eleni21 (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Friday, 28-Dec-2007 22:13:21

Yes, The Coffee Fool has Jamaiican coffee at decent prices. Never tried it myself.

i drinkcoffee at least once a day,and it's about a half a pot worth, and i go to7-11 to grab a few cups if i'm going to be heading towork, and i mix some of their different flavors together, and a fewflavors of capachino .
smiles for making this board

Post 11 by SingerOfSongs (Heresy and apostasy is how progress is made.) on Saturday, 29-Dec-2007 2:05:35

I don't drink it that offen. The only way I like coffee though is in a capachino (or a frap). But it helps that cafeene doesn't do anything to me. If it's there I'll probably drink it, but I don't regularly go out of my way to find it.

Post 12 by Big Pawed Bear (letting his paws be his guide.) on Saturday, 29-Dec-2007 7:50:25

Jamaican blue mountain is the best in the world apparently. I drink coffee quite a bit, but am not adicted to it. and btw, 3 cups a day is okay. they say six an above is problematic. i also grind beans, the best way to do it. i like all kinds, normal and flavoured.

Post 13 by bozmagic (The rottie's your best friend if you want him/her to be, lol.) on Saturday, 29-Dec-2007 8:34:48

I'm addicted to coffee like you wouldn't believe! I wouldn't say no to my Grandparents fresh and very strong coffee or my own jar of Kenco Instant, which makes up for the fresh coffee as we don't own a coffee maker, though we do have a perculator. I also drink Capuccinoes once or twice a day, as well as between 4 or 5 large mugs of Kenco per day.

Jen.

Post 14 by Eleni21 (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Saturday, 29-Dec-2007 9:18:27

I'm so glad I'm not the only one here who knows about frappes! But do you mean the kind with Nescafe, ice, water, milk and sugar or the other stuff? Personally, I really want to get a frappe shaker so I can make them all nice and foamy.

Post 15 by ocean blue (what you see! is what you get!) on Saturday, 29-Dec-2007 17:33:52

Well I have about one to 2 cups a day and I make regular coffee with liquid creamer. I like French vanilla. I use to love to get mokas everyday but as we all know they are very expensive. But coffee is good yummy smile!

Post 16 by SingerOfSongs (Heresy and apostasy is how progress is made.) on Sunday, 30-Dec-2007 3:03:22

I don't know much about fraps, other than just having had them. When I was in Oregon getting my guide dog, I was introduced to them. (Around there, every time you turn around there's another coffee shop.) It was starting to become pretty warm at that point, so several of us were drinking fraps because they were good and cold.

Post 17 by HotPerro (I live and breathe the board) on Sunday, 30-Dec-2007 3:52:33

I like my coffee black, or with the occasional creamer. I don't like anything sweet in it, that just ruins it for me. I guess the only way I'll drink it sweet is as a moca. Whoever came up with mixing coffee and chocolate, two of the most awesome flavors, is a genius.

Post 18 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Thursday, 03-Jan-2008 12:11:18

damn, reading this has given me a huge craving for a frapachino from starbucks. one of the caramel ones. Mmmmmmmmm!

Post 19 by margorp (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Thursday, 03-Jan-2008 12:39:05

I like coffee. In fact, if I go a day with out it, I get a headache, and I'm in a bad mood.
So, coffee is good!

Post 20 by Blondie McConfusion (Blah Blah Blah) on Thursday, 03-Jan-2008 12:58:34

i love love love coffee. i love the taste. love trying different creams and different flavors of coffee. it has no effect on me at this point as for keeping me awake. but i also get the headaches if i go without caffene. i drink around a pot a day which is 12 cups. sometimes more, rarely less. discovered espresso lately and love it. caps and fraps are yummy too. hazel nut is about the only flavor i've found that i don't like.

Post 21 by margorp (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Tuesday, 08-Jan-2008 0:08:42

A pot a day = 12 cups = 1 gallon.
Wow.

Post 22 by maroon five (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Tuesday, 08-Jan-2008 18:12:24

I can't start my day without my coffee. I have at least 1 cup in the morning and more if I feel like it. reading this board has made me want another cup now. lol

Post 23 by singingsensation (I just keep on posting!) on Saturday, 02-Feb-2008 13:55:13

I am not a big coffee drinker, but I have tried french vanilla and I guess it's ok. I usually go to Starbucks and get me a frapachino or a cappuccino--they are so good!!

Post 24 by motifated (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Saturday, 02-Feb-2008 21:33:52

I generally drink 4 to 6 large cups a day. When I'm at home, I grind my own. I think I enjoy the smell almost more than the taste. I make it strong, as I'm a night person, trying to fit in a day person's body and world. I don't do the Starbucks thing, though. I like real, unadulterated coffee.

Lou

Post 25 by singingsensation (I just keep on posting!) on Monday, 04-Feb-2008 10:57:59

oh that's cool.

Post 26 by Faial (Zone BBS Addict) on Monday, 04-Feb-2008 11:39:47

I am also adicted to it. LOL I need drink it everyday. Here in Portugal we have strong coffee and I love it. In Southern Europe countries normally coofee is stronger than in North. It's a kind of mediterranian coffee with the taste close to turkish one for example. The coffee her is not expensive and it's very important for our culture. A meal here is not a true meal if we ddon't finish it with one strong coffee. And the feeling of sharing a cup of coofee is something very romantic! Drinking it alone sounds like a little bit loonely dreammer but anyways it's great. I love it.

Post 27 by singingsensation (I just keep on posting!) on Friday, 08-Feb-2008 11:00:41

wow. Drinking it when you're sharing it and feeling romantic? Hmm, that sounds interesting.

Post 28 by singingsensation (I just keep on posting!) on Saturday, 12-Apr-2008 17:43:26

I've never done that. LOL.

Post 29 by Heavy Metal Girl 85 (Zone BBS is my Life) on Saturday, 12-Apr-2008 19:16:56

I wouldn't say I'm addicted to coffee or I'm a heavy coffee Drinker, but I do drink it from time to time. I like regular, coffee with diferent flavors, different kinds of creamer etc. I like to drink it with cookies, cakes, pies and with breakfast foods. I recently tried Tim Horton's coffee this summer when I was in Rochester for a few days and it was so tasty. I also have had the usual Dunkin Doughnuts and starbucks coffee, which in my opinion is not much different from each other. I think both places have somewhat of the same tasting coffee, but then again, I could be wrong. I've heard that more people prefer Dunkin Doughnuts coffee over Starbucks though. I am always willing to try different flavors of coffee or differnt coffee from different parts of the world etc.

Post 30 by Godzilla-On-Toast (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Saturday, 12-Apr-2008 21:27:33

I'm not going to claim addiction, but I like it. However, I limit myself to two cups a day, and I prefer either flavored coffee or coffee with flavored creamer in it. I do like a good dark roast as well. I just got one of those coffee pod machines through a promotion, and I may decide to get a coffee grinder soon so I can try grinding my own coffee fresh from the bean. As a treat, my fiancee and I like to go to a certain Tully's location and ahve one of those fancy coffee drinks when we get the chance, although I think I like coffee somewhat more than she does.

Post 31 by guitargod1 (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Sunday, 13-Apr-2008 18:39:01

I love coffee! drink it every day. Between half a pot and a full pot. At the moment I'm drinking columbian coffee. I love many kinds of coffee, also flavored coffee and expresso. Started drinking it when I was fourteen. Usually drink it black. although, coffee mate have some nice flavors out.

Post 32 by sea star (I just keep on posting!) on Monday, 14-Apr-2008 0:00:15

Post 33 by singingsensation (I just keep on posting!) on Wednesday, 16-Apr-2008 10:48:57

I don't drink coffee every day. I go to Starbucks every once in a while. And I also love Dunkin Doughnuts! They're really good! That would be really cool if I could try coffee from other places around the world! I have also never tried drinking it when I'm eating food. I'll have to try that sometime. Thanks for the suggestion.

Post 34 by GreenTurtle (Music is life. Love. Vitality.) on Wednesday, 02-Jul-2008 16:47:40

Yeah, you can't just drink coffee with any food though. I usually have about 2 cups a day. I have to drink it to wake up in the morning. I usually drink it black, but flavored coffees are good, especially french vanilla and hazelnut. And adding hot chocolate mix is freakin awesome.

Post 35 by Leafs Fan (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Monday, 14-Jul-2008 10:00:12

One of our computer teachers were I go to school at drinks black coffee. You can smell it in his breath. He needs breath mints or something! Hahaha.

Post 40 by Squiggles (Account disabled) on Sunday, 27-Jul-2008 1:09:04

I absolutely love coffee. I like just about any flavor, mint, haslenut, vanilla, chocolate, anything. I can drink as much as i want and I will always be able to get to sleep go figure. I've also heard blue hill is the best in the world, from jamayka.

Post 41 by The Elemental Dragon (queen of dragons) on Sunday, 27-Jul-2008 1:37:24

coffeeeeeee!! Mocha coffee with a bunch of shugar, like six packs of equal in it with a very light milk. all that would need is whipped cream, pitty I can't get coffee at college, well actually I can, but the pot they have there is just obnocious so I stick with a mixture of honey, cinimon, a teaspoon of sugar, hot chocolate and this vanalla thing that is like coffee, but I can't really tell what it is. it is good though, and even better when with a cupcake.

ok, I really should stop ranting, but this is what happened with the cupcake

I had a cup that didn't have a top to fit to it, it was like just a little too small for the cup, so I grabbed a cupcake off of the desert tray and put that on the top, completly forgetting that the cupcake would fall into the thing, I thought that even if the bottom part did the cake top would still stay there, but as I'm walking the thing slowly falls into the cup, and my friend is trying so very hard not to burst out laughing untill I notice this and then I put the cup down and laugh myself silly and that got myother friends laughing, they ill think I was born a blond, but the mush that turned out to be was rather good.

Post 42 by blindndangerous (the blind and dangerous one) on Sunday, 27-Jul-2008 2:01:11

I enjoy regular with regular sugar and French vanilla creamer.

Post 46 by Inspired Chick (Zone BBS Addict) on Tuesday, 24-Feb-2009 14:22:09

Think that was kind of mean about the teacher, the coffee on his breath.. Hmm, well as for me, I drink coffee all the time. I love it with sweetened low.

Post 47 by turricane (happiness and change are choices ) on Friday, 27-Feb-2009 13:06:14

oh coffee. bring it on!!!! I don't drink it at home because i like it stronger then my family does. So I drink tea here and coffee elsewhere.

Be careful of the flavored kinds. I recently saw a thing on tv that said the process of putting the hazelnut or vanilla or whatever in the ground products we buy in the store can be not that good for the folk drinking it. they said it is much better for our bodies to buy the hazel nut syrup or vanilla or whatever and add it ourselves. have you ever put a couple scoops of cinnamon in the filter when making it?

oh yes, the best thing in the world is a moca latte from starbucks with a shot of hazelnut. oh my gosh that is to die for.

There is a big difference to me between duncan and starbucks. starbucks is cheaper and doesn't taste like it's been on the burner all day. i think starbucks regular coffee tastes like it's been around a while even though i know it hasn't. of course i have weird taste buds.

Post 48 by singingsensation (I just keep on posting!) on Friday, 10-Apr-2009 20:21:11

the starbukcs coffee is shit, i paid a small fortune for one in London, and it was the biggest cup of shit i've ever tasted. horrible. i could have made one cheaper myself with instant, and it would have been better. why the hell do they inflate the prices on things in cities anyway?

Post 58 by Eleni21 (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Tuesday, 02-Mar-2010 18:52:00

Well, alot has changed since I first posted here. I eventually went back to mostly caffinated coffee and really loved the little vacuum-packed bricks that they had in Shoprite (International House of Coffee perhaps/not sure), Mom's coffee pods and then I tried the Harmony Bay Gourmet coffee collection and adored it. But I was starting to drink around three or four cups some days and if I'd try to go a day without coffee I got major headaches and lost my energy. I knew then that I was actually addicted. So I bought a coffee substitute that I'd tried earlier called Teeccino, and I haven't had a cup of real coffee in about a month now, except for one decaf. It was very hard stopping, but I needed to. I don't plan on giving it up for good but I want to enjoy it not be forced to drink it out of an addiction. Btw, you can find the sub I mentioned at http://www.teeccino.com It doesn't taste like coffee but it has fantastic flavours of it's own and a sampler pack that you could get for around $12 with free shipping. You can also sometimes find it at healthfood and regular grocery stores. It's made exactly like regular coffee so you won't have to break your routein of using the coffee maker etc. I've also switched over to Blue Diamond Almond Breeze until I could get my hands on some more raw milk. It tastes great in Teeccino but I've yet to try it in actual coffee.

Post 59 by rat (star trek rules!) on Wednesday, 03-Mar-2010 3:21:38

i drink coffee every day if i can get the chance, and i'm not too picky about it. i'll drink it straight black to moderately sweetened and stuff.

Post 60 by OceanDream (An Ocean of Thoughts) on Wednesday, 03-Mar-2010 7:15:05

I love the coffee that you have to grind yourself. To me, it tastes fresher than the preground kind, and I find it cheaper sometimes as well. I absolutely will not drink decaff, though. I used to drink two or three cups a day until a few months ago, when I slowed down to a cup almost every day, but not quite. I don't really know why I slowed down, but when I do decide to splurge occasionally, the effects are definitely more defined.

Post 61 by Eleni21 (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Wednesday, 03-Mar-2010 23:32:09

Coffee that you grind yourself is always fresher than that which is already ground. The beans retain their flavour better than pregound varieties and definitely taste the best. Sadly, I haven't had much freshly ground coffee.

Post 62 by OceanDream (An Ocean of Thoughts) on Thursday, 04-Mar-2010 7:06:35

Coffee grinders really aren't that expensive, as long as you're not looking for anything too fancy. I bought one this year, and it was probably one of the best $20 investments I've ever made. Lol.

Wow, how did I miss this descussion.

I have around 2 to 3 cups of coffee each morning. I pour most of it into a thermal 20-ounce cup and drink it all morning. *lol!*

During wenter we definitely have more, the occassional cup in the evenings.

Starbucks is our favorite, verona. We grind it each morning.

In fact, we just needed to replace our old grinder.

I drink mine with sugar and half-&-half.

When I go to Starbucks, my fave drink is an triple tall americano. I have a bit of sugar, vinela and cream in it. Yummo!

Oh yeah, coffee along with a sweet is a huge weakness of mine! Definitely, one of the first things I cut back if I'm in watch my weight mode. *grin*
